Your role.
As a Knowledge Engineer/Ontologist (m/f/d), you are responsible for mapping our clients' concepts, relationships and rules into our ontology, intelligently connecting complex enterprise data and making it usable for AI applications.
Responsibilities
How you will shape tomorrow's world.
- You talk to subject-matter experts across different departments, understand their domain knowledge and translate it into formal, semantic models.
- You build bridges between the business units and our engineering team, and make sure the knowledge model both reflects the reality of the domain and can be implemented to a high technical standard.
- You design and facilitate workshops to develop and establish a shared understanding (a “Shared Language”) of central business concepts together with stakeholders.
- You work closely with our engineering team, providing conceptual guidance for connecting databases, APIs and other sources to the Knowledge Graph.
- Using standards such as OWL/RDF, you not only build the model but also define the logical rules and constraints that safeguard the quality and consistency of our Knowledge Graph.
Skillset
What sets you apart.
- You think in abstractions and love turning complex relationships into clear, formal structures. Your ability to move from the concrete to the abstract is what sets you apart.
- You already have experience in modelling, for example with UML or, ideally, with semantic technologies (RDF, OWL).
- You can explain complex technical and logical models in a way that is both understandable and convincing for domain experts and developers alike. You listen exceptionally well and ask the right questions.
- You know how data flows through systems. Terms like APIs, databases and data pipelines are familiar territory. First experience with graph technologies (e.g. SPARQL, Cypher) is a big plus, but not a must.
- You have the drive not just to administer existing systems, but to help shape and push forward a new way of organising knowledge for AI from the ground up.
- You speak and write German fluently at a C1 level.
