Companies often have a system landscape that has grown over decades. The systems themselves, as well as the existing system disruptions, often make it difficult for employees to work in a contemporary and effective manner. At the same time, the replacement of those systems is associated with very high costs and usually takes years. With a meta-system that abstracts user interaction as much as possible, a significant improvement in workflows and the use of current technological possibilities such as artificial intelligence can be realized in the short term.
Starting from the client's initial ideas about the functions that need to be included in this kind of a meta system, a technical definition of the product was carried out. The concrete target benefit for the employees was taken as a point of reference and all requirements were evaluated against it. At the same time, the system landscape was evaluated with regard to the access and usage options for the meta system.
A number of success-critical elements have been incorporated into the technical concept. First, the concept ensures that a technical decoupling of the service level of the meta system from the existing enterprise systems is achieved. This ensures that further services can be added in the future without having to be adapted to the enterprise systems again. On the other hand, not only a technical and data decoupling had to be realized, but also the potential of the data had to be raised to a new dimension. For this purpose, the use of a graph technology is planned, which, in contrast to a classic data architecture based on RLDBs, is significantly more flexible and has high performance advantages in the use of artificial intelligence.
